[Burlington, VT] COTS and Evernorth were joined by Senator Peter Welch, residents, funders, and community members on Monday to cut the ribbon on Main Street Family Housing, 16 permanently affordable homes for families formerly living in emergency shelters or motels.
Lewiston’s Tree Streets neighborhood in Maine received another boost with a $2.5 million grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). This funding supports the first phase of the “Growing Our Tree Streets Transformation Plan,” which includes the renovation of Wedgewood Mansion and the construction of 82 new rental homes across nine buildings on Pine, Pierce, Bartlett, and Walnut streets.

[White River Junction, VT] Today, the White River Junction community celebrated the official grand opening of 42 new affordable apartments downtown with a ribbon cutting and an apartment tour. The apartments, named Riverwalk Apartments, were developed by DEW Braverman with an agreement to sell the building to Twin Pines Housing and Evernorth. The apartments will remain affordable forever.
Jocelyn Place officially opened its doors, creating 60 new affordable apartments for adults aged 55 and older. The apartments are ideally situated in Scarborough, Maine, close to healthcare providers, grocery stores, banks, restaurants, retail, and recreational opportunities along with various other services.

Evernorth closed Housing New England, Fund V on May 30, 2024. This fund will provide equity to finance affordable housing in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.
15 investors committed a total of $61,000,000 in equity making Housing New England, Fund V (HNE Fund V) a significant financial resource for the region’s critical affordable housing needs. HNE Fund V’s investors include community, regional and national banks.
Champlin Place, a newly constructed affordable housing community in Rochester, New Hampshire, recently celebrated its grand opening. This development, designed for residents aged 62 and over and built by EasterSeals New Hampshire, offers 65 one- and two-bedroom apartments, all of which are already occupied, with a waiting list now in place. The independent living center includes amenities such as common rooms, laundry facilities, and a lending library.
The Uptown, 60 affordable homes for older adults in Bath, Maine, celebrated its grand opening this month with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Developed by the Szanton Compnay for residents 55 and older, the project involved new construction, adaptive reuse, rehab of existing housing, historic preservation and commercial space.
