Evernorth Invests in Major Expansion of Ashland Sawmill

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE September 17, 2026 Irving Forest Products, Inc., a subsidiary of J.D. Irving, Limited,is undertaking a modernization project to expand its Ashland Sawmill in Nashville Plantation, Maine. The project will increase production while building on the mill’s history of contributing to the economic resiliency of the Aroostook community. When complete, the project will double the facility’s annual lumber production capacity from 130 million to 250 million board feet while strengthening its role as a leading manufacturer of dimensional lumber.  The project is expected to create and retain the equivalent of 220 permanent, full-time jobs while supporting upstream workers, including foresters and loggers throughout the region. All jobs provide a full benefits package and pay at or above a living wage for Aroostook County.

Nonprofit developers Champlain Housing Trust and Evernorth Host Ribbon Cutting at South Winooski Avenue property

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE September 4, 2026 [Burlington, VT] Senator Bernie Sanders headlined a ribbon cutting event on marking the completion of 38 permanently affordable apartments, a new Veterans’ Center, and space for the Chittenden County Community Justice Center. The Howard Plant VFW Post 782 sold the building to the Champlain Housing Trust to make way for the new development and will operate out of the building. Evernorth was a co-developer of the building.

Community Celebrates Grand Opening of 30 Permanently Affordable Apartments in Rutland City

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE August 6, 2026 [Rutland, VT] On August 6, the Rutland community celebrated the ribbon cutting of Maplewood Commons Apartments. Co-owners and co-developers Cornerstone Housing Partners and Evernorth partnered to develop Maplewood Commons Apartments, the new construction of 30 permanently affordable homes which provides essential housing and services for low- and moderate-income households near the city center of Rutland, Vermont.
