This week, a ribbon-cutting celebration was held at Picker House Lofts, marking a brand-new chapter for the historic Continental Mill on Cedar Street in Lewiston, Maine. This redevelopment has transformed the formerly vacant building into 72 homes, offering a mix of market-rate and income-restricted apartments to meet the growing housing needs in the community.

Governor Janet Mills attended the celebration, emphasizing the importance of projects like this in strengthening Maine’s communities. “My administration will do all we can to support projects like these and the creative ways that developers are revitalizing old buildings and old spaces to rebuild vibrant communities,” she said.
